This is Good Water spring located ¼ east of the summit of Santa Rita Peak. There was once a 2-story cedar log house near this spring. The house was known locally as the French Cabin because two French men and a woman lived there. The cabin burn down during the 1942 forest fire. After that, Slim Houser built a small cabin here that burned down during the 1985 fire. During the 1960s Slim made beer with water from the spring, and was well known to some locals as fine gentlemen and to others as very cantankerous character. He had the unpleasant habit of threaten or intimidating visitors and local miners. Named on Santa Rita Peak (1969) 7.5' quadrangle at 715685mE, 4024751mN at 4770 feet.
