Archer Mine

A cinnabar mine located at 719352mE, 4020636mN at 3500 feet. This mine was claimed by Joe Byles in 1904 and was named for his youngest son Archie John Byles. The mine was managed by Joe's son Ben J. Byles until 1918 when the mine closed. Joe's two older sons, "Sid" and "Benny" began operating the mine again during the depression and again during WWII. The mine continued operation until 1953.
