Wonder Mine

Named on Idria 7.5' quadrangle at N36° 24.590; W120° 41.791 at 3948 feet. This cinnabar mine is west of Idria. This cinnabar mine is west of Idria. The mine opened in 1910. However a 1875 article from the San Benito Advance mentions R.M. Shackleford transferring his interest in mining claims for stock certificates in the Consolidated Wonder Quicksilver Mining Co..

The mine is sometimes called the "Gonzales Mine" by locals because the mine was owned by Manuel Gonzales in the early 1900s.
